I'm always on the lookout for new polish brands and I'd seen Floss Gloss around the place and thought I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did because they are so very super sparkly and awesome. I've been moving away from the traditional polish reviews lately as I like to contribute to the internet something that hasn't been done before. I really wanted to try out these polishes so the hardest part was trying to find out how to incorporate a coral, very dark brow, gold glitter and silver glitter polishes in the one mani. Why not jump aboard the art deco train and do something with triangles and call it art deco?

Floss Gloss Party Bruise with Gold and Silver Holo Glitter Dots
I've just started at a new job and now I'm sure they don't mind sparkly nails and the word is out that my nails are usually not bad, I had to pull out all the stops and go mega sparkly. I've been into gold and silver holo glitter lately so why not use them together over a dark grey-brown polish?
To start, I applied two coats of Floss Gloss Party Bruise, a dark grey-brown creme polish with a great name. I've woken up with bruises this colour before. Next, using my cheapest top coat, I went to work with my glitter using my usual technique. This may look tricky to get spaced evenly but if you do a stripe down the middle of your nail and place them evenly, it's not too difficult to match the spacing as you fill out the sides. I like to add two coats of a top coat like Seche Vite to this because you don't want the glitter to escape.
The Verdict: I think this might actually hold the record for my most-commented-on nails ever. They were so sparkly, so holo-y, I must have had ten people comment on them throughout the day. I did manage to break my index nail half way through the day though :(
The Other Hand: It should be made clear that I really don't do both hands like this. It may be cheating but my camera set up only works for my right hand and I'm not that good at doing both hands the same. Instead, I used the same base colour and just sprinkled the same glitter over the wet polish. It doesn't look that different and if anyone asks, just show them your right hand!

Review: Floss Gloss Fastlane with Sparkly Glitter Triangle Half-moons
I've had this little pot of blue glitter for quite a while now and I have to say it's up there with my favourites. It was the glitter I used in this glitter mani, the first of mine that truly got sort-of internet famous. I don't get to use a lot because it's the only glitter I have in that particular size. When I want to test out a new polish that's a good complement to said glitter, you best I'm going to bust it out. Turns out it goes super awesomely with Floss Gloss Fastlane.
I was curious at this point, what would happen if I put a matte top coat over all this? I tell you, there are few things in my life as nerve-wracking as putting anything over the top of my glitter mosaics. Turned out ok. The texture in the glitter was interesting but not sparkly enough so I put more Seche Vite on. Not really that interesting, after all that :)
The Verdict: Love the colour on this polish, love the glitter, ok on the matte over the top. I love a good neon so that's good. I even managed to get the colour accurate in the pictures, no small feat with this kind of colour. Yay sparkly trianges!

You Know What This Glitter Polish Needs? MOAR GLITTER
Since I've been busy doing my nails for Revlon (I love saying that, even if it is just for their Tumblr), I haven't been able to do as much glitter stuff as I'd have liked as they didn't send me any! I'm just going to have to make up for it now by taking an already very sparkly polish, Floss Gloss Stun, and add mega sparkly glitter allllllll over it. IT'S SERIOUSLY SO SPARKLY. LoveNailz does the best glitter.
I had a little trouble finding the right base for Stun as I didn't want to have to do too many coats to get it opaque. I tried a few polishes but Revlon Gold Coin ended up being the best. When working with a glitter polish, sparkly foil polishes make good underwear as they're opaque but still sparkly. Once done with two coats of Gold Coin, it was on to two coats of Stun then glitter on the top using my usual technique. As usual, I laid a column down the middle of my nail then built out each side. This is pretty quick - under an hour - if you concentrate! SO SPARKLY.
The Verdict: I just....love glitter so very very much. So much I'm posting both videos I took today because just SO SPARKLY ow my brain :( :DDD :(
Yeah, I caved and now do Instagram too.
